The board of directors feels that they have come up with a solid foundation for breed and height standard for each respective breed.
But it is not set in stone

TMGR
looks forward to providing our members with the opportunity to change, improve, and promote the miniature breeds.
We will be looking for members to join the breed committees to tweak these standards so that they will be The standard in the near future.
Generation Description:

A registered Nigerian Buck bred to a registered standard Doe are the foundation animals (F) in
the Herd book. F1 simply means, that animal is one generation from foundation. F2 is two
generations from foundation, etc. At Purebred status (F6), the F is dropped. If both animals are
Purebred, all progenies will be Purebred and registered as such. If a progeny does not meet Breed
Standards, they are still registered as a Purebred in the Herd book, however their designation is
F7.

A Registered Nigerian Buck bred to a Registered Standard Doe produces a 1st Generation Mini (F1).
An F1 bred to an F1 produces an F2.
An F2 bred to an F2 produces an F3.
An F3 bred to an F3 produces an F4.
Breeding two animals who are the same F will produce the next highest F.
An F1 bred back to a Standard Doe still produces an F1. A breeder may want, or need to, bring stronger
breed characteristics into the next generation by breeding an F4 to an F2 producing an F3; F1 to an F2
producing an F2 etc.
Any F3 through F5 animal meeting the breed standard requirements, will be considered for American
Status. If said animal currently has registration papers, send the original papers with quality pictures that
include a front and side view and height measurements at 1 year of age.
(Do not be concerned if, at 1
year, animal is slightly under minimum height standard for that breed. Animals continue to grow into
their 4th and 5th year. Height measurements need to be taken and signed by: another breeder,
Veterinary, or Show Judge)
. New registration papers for that animal will be issued as American.
An F6 animal meeting the breed standard requirements, will be considered for Purebred status. If said
animal currently has registration papers, send the original papers with quality pictures that include a
front and side view and height measurements at 1 year of age.
(Do not be concerned if, at 1 year,
animal is slightly under minimum height standard for that breed. Animals continue to grow into their
4th and 5th year. Height measurements need to be taken and signed by: another breeder, Veterinary, or
Show Judge)
. New registration papers for that animal will be issued as Purebred. Purebred progenies
will automaticly receive Purebred status when registered.
All animals can be registered whether or not they meet breed standards and used in an individual
breeding program. However,
Breed Guidelines Will Be Adhered To In The Show Ring.
